Brief

Ezymart's franchising model is about empowering entrepreneurs to run their own businesses while leveraging the support of a proven brand. Ezymart's head office is committed to helping its franchisees succeed by offering the best pricing possible on products through contract arrangements with major suppliers. Therefore, Ezymart head office are looking to develop a website containing informative content pages to support and educate franchisees to keep them updated. This will empower franchisees to make informed decisions and assist head office to enhance its support to the franchisee network.

Problem

Ezymart is looking to streamline their digital offering to both the public via updates to their existing TOTECS website and their current franchisee's by way of adding extra information to the current website.

Ezymart are also requiring a portal similar to an intranet setup for current franchisee store managers access only. The intranet would hold information, resources and links to business support, staff training,news and updates, access to Ezymart Distribution ordering (TOTECS eCommerce website) and a promotions area.

They are also looking to create a streamlined procurement portal bringing together the franchisee's and major suppliers in one area. The goal seems to be, to have the 500+ franchisee stores ordering through the one portal to prove Ezymart's buying power, however this needs to be qualified as an outcome of the project by Ezymart. This would also make their franchisees sticky to Ezymart by way of ease of ordering through one portal (EzyHub) and facilitate better negotiating power favouring Ezymart with their suppliers.

Another commercial goal is to have oversight of the trading relationship of franchisee's and suppliers in the case that franchisees do not manage their payments and orders in accordance of the negotiated terms of Ezymart Distribution therefore risking the reputation of the group. This outcome also needs to be qualified as an expected outcome of Ezymart undertaking this project.

Solution

Develop an Ezymart website with content pages where Ezymart can add educational and promotional videos, business support, staff training video's, FAQ's and promotional products

Develop an Ezymart purchasing portal (EZYhub)for its 550+ franchisees where they can buy products from their six major suppliers I.e. Coca Cola, Schweppes, Streets, Peter Icecream, Bega and Lactallis

Develop a website reporting mechanism

Results

The new Ezymart website and EZYhub portal enhanced franchisee support and operational efficiency. Franchisees gained easy access to training, business resources, and promotional content, improving decision-making and store performance. EZYhub streamlined purchasing for 550+ stores, boosting Ezymart’s buying power and franchisee retention. Improved oversight of supplier relationships and franchisee compliance helped protect the brand’s reputation and strengthened group governance.
